How we as parents went about creating 'Go Vita'
Go Vita is inspired by the work of Bansi Gir Gaushala. It is an attempt to bring a piece of ancient Bharatiya sanskriti, with all its energizing and creative aspects, into our children's breakfast plate and glass of milk. When we started our work, in our family we realized that commercially available malt mixes were harmful to the health of our kids and family. We realized that if we had to raise happy, healthy kids, and make them capable citizens of Bharat, we cannot compromise with the quality of their diet. We knew this wasn't just a problem for our family, but for millions of other families which relied on heavily advertised factory made malt mixes and other food items.

What is the problem with commercially available malt mixes?
Commercial malt mixes made in factories commonly contain synthetic ingredients which can harm the delicate growing body of a child. Some of these ingredients often include synthetic vitamins & minerals. While it may sound like a great idea to include vitamins and minerals in our kid’s daily drink, one must remember that artificial vitamins and minerals are more difficult for the body to absorb. Very little of these nutrients actually get metabolized, and the remaining unnecessarily increase the work of the liver and kidneys to flush them out. Our foods routinely contain more than enough nutrients for our bodies to stay healthy, particularly if we use organic ingredients in the kitchen. From an Ayurvedic perspective, it is far wiser to strengthen a child's 'jatharagni' (digestive fire) so their body may absorb as much nutrients as possible, rather than pumping in synthetic nutrients. Raising agents and preservatives – Commonly available malt mixes also contain raising agents, which could contain chemicals that can aid in toxic buildup in the body. Sugar – White sugar is associated with many health risks, especially white sugar that is not organic. It is known to reduce immunity, damage the brain and lead to various health conditions in the long term.
Making breakfast delicious & healthy - Ayurveda showed us the way...
Ayurveda was the prime secret behind the physical strength, intellectual vigour, creativity and longevity of our ancient forefathers. We consulted expert Vaidya's of Bharat, and experimented with various combinations. We wanted to create a mix that while being delicious could also help boost our kids' physical and intellectual capabilities. We finally created 'Go Vita', a completely herbal & natural mix, charged with the following ingredients –
1) Arjun chhal (terminalia arjuna) – This is a cooling herb which is rich in anti-oxidants with anti-cancer properties. It strengthens the heart, improves aerobic performance, alleviates skin allergies and balances kapha and pitta doshas. It has a natural chocolaty brown colour.
2) Brahmi and Shankhpushpi – Both these herbs are classified as 'Medhya' under Ayurveda, meaning they help to improve intelligence and memory. Brahmi (bacopa monnieri) is cooling, an excellent antioxidant, anti-aging, anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic herb. It is also great for the skin and helps to balance kapha and vata dosha. Shankhpushpi (convolvulus pluricaulis) is an herb which helps to balance pitta and kapha doshas. These herbs also help to promote greater sense of awareness and sattva (truth, purity), promoting the development of a more stable and positive temperament.
3) Candy sugar (khadi sakar or mishri) – this is very different from conventional white sugar, with a different manufacturing process and healing qualities. Mishri is cooling in nature, boosts digestion, helps with cough and soar throat, cleanses the blood, is good for the eyes, improves strength and balances vata and pitta dosha.
4) Bala (sida cordifolia) powder – As its very name suggests Bala increase strength and is nourishing in nature. It balances all the three doshas, especially vata.
5) Sunth (ginger powder) and Elaichi (cardamom) – Sunth is heating in nature, it boosts digestion and balances vata and kapha dosha. Elaichi is cooling, helps with respiratory disorders and balances kapha and vata doshas.Go Vita - experience the results for yourself
